The primary purpose of the blog is to document my experiences in astrology on the web so that someone else can refer to them when they look at a horoscope. (Through comments)  I would appreciate if you could correct/assert the conclusions that I arrive at on seeing some horoscopes. It would be fantastic if you can provide birth details of interesting horoscopes. By interesting horoscopes, I DO NOT mean celebrities' horoscopes. I am looking for horoscopes which have rare/peculiar aspects in terms of education, marriage, children, profession, health, longevity etc.

NONE of the following is part of the purpose of this blog: prove the validity of Vedic astrology, prove that I know Vedic astrology, advertise that I know Vedic astrology and that you must show me your horoscope. In particular, please DO NOT try to give me your birth details through comments and expect me to tell you when you are going to fall in love/get married/have kids/get promotion/clear credit card bills next.

I am interested in Parashara and Jaimini schools of astrology. I learned astrology from my revered grandfather and brother. I like books written by Dr. B V Raman. Particularly, I recommend the following books: Hindu Predictive Astrology, A Catechism of Astrology, How to Judge a Horoscope - 1&2. I also like a book written in Telugu, by Vidvan Abbaraju Lakshminarasimharao. I would strongly recommend these books to beginners. For drawing charts, I use Jagannatha Hora (by Sri P V R Narasimha Rao). For checking ephemeris, I use Junior Jyotish.

May God bless you!

  1. Dear Sandeep

I'm a student of Jyotish Alankar in Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi. I've read few books of Dr Raman. Our teachers mention that the best way to learn astrology is to collect horoscopes and work on them for various combinations, dashas etc.

I've one case which proved googly to me. I was asked question about her re-marriage but recently (in Feb 2011) I was told that she's no more.

    The details are:
    Ms MJ
    Hisar (Haryana)

    Plz have a look.

  2. Hi Neeraj

I am very sorry to know about this lady. May her soul rest in peace.

For the horoscope you have mentioned, even I am not sure how such an early death happened.

My hunch is that the time of birth is not 8:00pm, rather 8:00am. Also, please note that 20:00 is too much of a round figure to be one's time of birth.

If the time of birth is around 8:00am and lagna is in Sg, then 8th lord will be exalted and stronger than 1st lord -- which is an indication of early death.

Also, I am not able to see why she will have multiple marriages if she were born in Gemini ascendant.

Please don't post your birth details here and ask me about your future. Please don't try to argue against the validity of Vedic Astrology.
